Erik Carrington
Erik Carrington is a Senior Vice President and Private Wealth Management Executive for Hancock Whitney Bank. Erik is based out of Houston, Texas and has been in the Banking and Investment Management Industry for over 25 years serving in prior roles at Morgan Stanley and UBS Financial Services. Erik manages a division that provides Private Banking, Investment Management, Insurance, Trust and Estate Planning to high net worth individuals and families. Most recently, Carrington was integral in executing the bank’s acquisition of Capital One’s Trust and Asset Management business that led the bank to be the number one Trust company in the Gulf South of the US and top forty nationally. Through his years of experience in the Wealth Management industry he has been effective in building teams and divisions from the ground up in helping to lead organizations toward their corporate growth initiatives. He has also been quoted in a number of local business publications regarding the financial industry and strategic thought leadership as he remains active in the various local business communities in Texas. Carrington also is a former Board Chairperson and currently serves on the Advisory Board of Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Texas which is a national non-profit based out of Philadelphia, Pa.
Erik has a BBA in Accounting from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business and an MBA in Finance from the University of Texas at San Antonio. He is a lifetime UM Alumni Member and helped lead the Houston Alumni Club during its infancy in the 1990’s as he remains active with the group. More importantly he and his wife, Peggy, love coming back to Ann Arbor every year for the UM Homecoming and Ross Tailgate! Erik, Peggy and their son, Mason also enjoy travelling and attending the year-end Michigan bowl games every year. Go Blue!
