Michigan Ross provides full funding to doctoral students, which includes five years of full tuition, health insurance, and a generous stipend package that combines both fellowship funding and a graduate assistantship. An additional application for financial aid is not required.
Assistantships, the centerpiece of the Michigan Ross mentorship philosophy, are provided year-round as a source of financial assistance. Students spend three-and-a-half years as a research assistant, and at least one term as a graduate instructor - typically in their third year.
External Funding Sources
We encourage applying for additional external sources of support when available. We also nominate eligible students for university fellowships.
Students who have secured external funding at the time of admission should notify the Doctoral Studies Office so that program staff may consult with faculty and build a coordinated funding package.
