As the daughter of farmers, I spent most of my life vowing I would not go into agriculture. Imagine my surprise when I landed a job at a goat milk processing company, after being laid off from a software development firm. I told myself I was there temporarily, to make some money. What began was an 8.5 year journey with a company that was later acquired by a Swiss multi-national dairy manufacturer. It was, in a sense, returning to my roots and I thrived. I spent most of that time taking on different organizational projects including software implementations and strategic product launches. In 2020, as part of a corporate development program, I was placed on an international team tasked with assessing the global sustainability strategy of the firm. I was enpassioned and motivated to learn all about this new dimension of business. This is ultimately what led to my decision to return to school and pursue my MBA/MS in Sustainability with the Erb Institute. In addition to the clubs listed above, I am also part of the Social Venture Fund, one of the student-led funds on campus.
I chose Ross because of the community and the emphasis on action based learning. Consistently throughout my interactions I was impressed with the support and encouragement I received from Ross students and alums. Being at Ross offers so many opportunities to learn, but also to practice what you are learning in a very intentional way.
Beyond the classroom, I'm an avid outdoors adventurer and love taking my two dogs out into nature. I love to cook, do yoga, and read as well.
