Anant Tikku
I was born and raised in the California Bay Area. I graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point as a Nuclear Engineer. After graduation, I began my career as an Infantry Officer in the United States Army and for the next 5 years, the US Army provided the perfect blend of impact-oriented problems to solve and demanding leadership positions. After three years training and leading a platoon of infantry soldiers through a deployment cycle to South Korea, I pivoted to recruiting where I oversaw community engagement and recruitment production in Pittsburgh, PA. While deciding my next career move from the military to the civilian workspace, I rapidly assessed that I needed a strong base of critical business and corporate leadership skills to have the best possible transition. This gap in my skillset is what led me to pursue an MBA.
When deciding the right MBA program for me, I focused on 3 things: Community, Action Based Learning, and Professional Development. Ross dominates in these 3 categories and distinguished their program as the best choice for me to take my non-traditional background and make a strong pivot into the private sector. I leaned heavily on current students when applying to Ross and I am excited to pay it forward by answering any questions you have about the Ross experience.
