After three years in Connecticut with Teach For America, I followed my girlfriend (and now wife) to Michigan when she began medical school at U of M. At that time, I was unsure of the next step in my career journey, but I landed a job with Google on its Global Customer Experience team to provide account optimization and technical troubleshooting for Small and Medium Businesses. As I fell in love with Google and Ann Arbor, I realized I wanted to develop as a people manager. Within a couple years, I managed two cycles of undergraduate interns and eventually a team of full-time employees as a manager intern. I was promoted in October 2015 to Team Lead. Apart from my people management duties, I also oversee employee satisfaction and other people themes. While Google has fantastic support and resources, I have benefitted from compelling project work and case studies at Ross and the caliber of my classmates, who represent diverse backgrounds, experiences, and employment history.
