Brysan Porterfield
Prior to my life at Ross, I graduated from the Language, Arts, and Science College at The University of Michigan - Ann Arbor in 2016, and lived/worked in the NJ/NYC area (born and raised) in both the healthcare and advertising industry. For four and a half years I worked at a healthcare insurance company as a Project Manager within their Dental & Vision department and then pivoted to an advertising agency for two years as an Account Manager. While my experience was very instrumental to my foundation as a leader, I still had an itch and curiosity to learn more about the Marketing industry which led me here today.
I ultimately decided to come to Ross because as you can see Michigan has a very special place in my heart but also to take my storytelling and strategic skills to the next level while becoming a stronger influential marketing leader. Outside of academics Michigan is truly a place where you can authentically be yourself while building a strong community of friends and supporters. For example, I was elected Section President, found a group of friends who love watching Love is Blind and Love Island (UK Only) just as much as I do, joined a gaming club (yes, it includes every type of game you can think of, cards, board, video games, etc.) and attend every home football game. There truly is something for everyone here.
Overall, this might sound cheesy but it is hard to put in words the magic of this school. However, I can assure you that once you visit and attend, you’ll understand!
Please reach out to me if you have any questions regarding moving to Ann Arbor (including with a partner, mine is here as well), career pivots, Michigan culture, Love is Blind, etc.
