Daniel Tineo
I am a Venezuelan-American, born and raised in the DMV area, having lived in both Virginia and Maryland. Spanish is my first language, and I hold a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Maryland. Prior to Ross, I spent over six years in the construction industry, progressing from an intern to my most recent role as Project Manager at the same firm.
During my time in construction, I gradually shifted my focus to the business side, managing project financials and viewing the industry through a financial lens rather than solely an engineering one. This experience sparked my interest in using my technical expertise to solve business problems, ultimately leading me to pursue an MBA to develop my business acumen, analytical skills, and strategic thinking.
When exploring MBA programs, Ross stood out for its action-based learning, supportive community, and engaged alumni network. After attending the UpClose weekend in October 2023, I knew Ross was the right place for me. The support I received from the Ross community during my application process was invaluable, making it clear that I had found a place that felt like home.
As a Venezuelan-American MBA student, I am proud to be a member of The Consortium for Graduate Study in Management, as well as the Hispanic Business Student Association (HBSA) and the Latin American Business Student Association (LABSA). I am excited to give back by helping prospective students learn more about Ross. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or want to learn more about the Ross experience!
