Emi's Headshot

Emily Ying Wang

Class of 2025

Hi! My name is Emi, and I graduated a year early this May with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics through the University of Michigan's College of Literature, Science, and the Arts. I am now pursuing my Master’s in Business Analytics here at Ross!

Eager to gain technical expertise and refine my business acumen, I was drawn to this program for its comprehensive approach to combining data analytics with real-world business applications. After two semesters (Summer and Fall), I can confidently say this experience has exceeded my expectations. Not only has this program fulfilled my initial hopes through it's amazing curriculum, but it has also provided me with many other opportunities to learn and grow.

For example, I ran for MBAn’s Student Council and now serve as the DEI Chair, where I've had the honor to serve my fellow MBAn students with the rest of our council. I've also enjoyed organizing our upcoming One-Year Master’s Cultural Night with the other OYM DEI Chairs. In addition, I applied and was selected to join the Ross Leaders Academy, where I’ve been pushing my boundaries to expand my leadership capabilities and learn how to influence effectively, all while staying true to my values. I also participated in the +Tech Innovation Jam where I collaborated with master’s students from various disciplines across campus and served as the Product Manager for our team. Together, we developed Reviva, a product that earned a top-three placement in the healthcare track thanks to my team's hard work and dedication! Ross really encourages you to step out of your comfort zone with diverse opportunities geared towards many interests, and I’m excited to embrace more of these opportunities in the Winter semester, such as the Leadership Crisis Challenge and my consulting studio project that'll allow me to apply my skills to real-world scenarios.

Ross’s Career Development Office has also been essential in my recruiting journey, offering resources like one-on-one resume and cover letter editing, mock behavioral interviews, and consulting case preparation. And last but definitely not least, I am grateful for the incredible network of peers I’ve built so far in this program, who have not only inspired me with their diverse perspectives and expertise but have also supported my personal and professional growth inside and outside of class. The connections I’ve made here are invaluable, and I’m confident they will last a lifetime.
