Landy Cheng
Landy wanted to strengthen her skills in management, marketing, and leadership so she could help her family business. In addition to the accelerated, 16-month program, she chose Ross for two reasons: the school’s commitment to learning by doing and, especially, its unique educational environment. “I think it’s an amazing school,” she says. “Ross has a very strong collaborative learning environment. Everything is related to teamwork, and people help each other no matter where you’re from, no matter who you are. Students here are not only smart, but also have a willingness to try new things. There’s a spirit of entrepreneurship that keeps encouraging me to explore different approaches and experience new perspectives.” She speaks highly of her Ross professors as well: “They’re really the top, and the best fit for our community. They always challenge our thinking.” She particularly liked one unique aspect of the GMBA Program: a Benchmarking Trip to Silicon Valley, where students meet with top executives of major companies as well as startups. “We not only visited them, we also had real conversations with them,” she says. “That gave me a totally different perspective on doing business.”
