Laurie Remias
After completing my undergrad degree in Sport Management at Rice University in Houston, I made my way to Dallas where I spent a little over 7 years working for a health and wellness company called AdvoCare. While there, I had the opportunity to work in a variety of marketing functions including product development, product marketing, social media marketing, strategy and engagement.
I knew that I wanted to get my MBA, but I struggled with the idea of giving up my job in order to get one. The WMBA program at Ross was the perfect solution: I got to maintain my role at a company I loved, but also learn and gain valuable experience from a top level MBA program while doing it. I loved getting to go through the two years together with a cohort, and the sense of community and action-based learning make Ross unlike anywhere else.
After completing my MBA, I had the opportunity to pivot into a new industry and become the Director of Marketing for autonomous vehicle startup May Mobility. I was able to use what I learned at Ross to build out an entire marketing and communications organization and strategy, and saw the company grow from 72 to over 230 employees and raise $111 million in our Series C. After nearly 2.5 years there, I had the opportunity to take on an even larger global role at Visteon Corporation where I am currently the Director of Global Brand and Communications.
