Melannie Wurm
I grew up in a 500-person mountain town in rural North Idaho. I went on to attend Carleton College as a Quest Bridge Scholar (a program that matches first-generation very low-income students with the top colleges and universities in the US). There I was an English major, which makes me a little outside the business school norm. Before coming to Ross, I worked in marketing at a digital agency and later at a growth and transformation consultancy. My work ranged from digital transformation to brand strategy to organization and culture adaptation. I was drawn to Ross for its action-based learning model, highly collaborative culture, and football legacy. Before coming here, I spoke with nine current or past students; each was driven, thoughtful, and gracious with their time and advice. For me, the people are what made the difference and ultimately led me to choose Ross.
Ask me about business school with a liberal arts background, applying as a first generation student, submitting a late (I was round 4) application, and anything else you want to know.
