Omar Elsherif
Born and raised in Cairo, Egypt, I spent a big part of my life across both Cairo and Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Prior to Ross, I spent 7.5 years in the aerospace manufacturing industry; starting as a production engineer and most recently as a program manager. I initially thought I'd have a purely technical career given two engineering degrees. However, I soon realized my real passion was using my technical background to solve business problems. In order to pursue that further, I knew I needed to grow and develop my business-level knowledge and strategic thinking.
Certain that the MBA was the path for me, Ross was a no-brainer. An incredibly collaborative community, top-notch professors, and an unmatched network were all major reasons for me. Not only that, but the high emphasis on action-based learning really spoke to my engineering background.
Having been a "Michigander" for over a decade already, I'm more than happy to share my experience with any prospective student! I would not be here if it wasn't for all alums and current students that helped me confirm this was the place for me. If you're thinking about Ross, please do reach out!
