Before Ross, I was an R&D Engineer/Scientist at a biotech company in Rhode Island, developing and commercializing a novel cell therapy for a rare retinal disease. In this role, I had the opportunity to work on the frontlines of late-stage clinical drug development, supporting the company as it navigated the clinical trials and FDA approval process. While this was a rewarding and challenging experience, I aspired to see the full impact of my work in terms of understanding how these medical products get successfully adopted on the market. Additionally, I wanted to be closer to the strategic decisions driving growth of the business.
I chose to attend business school in order to pivot into the commercial side of the life sciences industry, sharpen my business acumen, and strengthen my leadership skills. When applying to business schools, Ross immediately stood out for its warm culture, passionate school spirit, strong track record in healthcare recruiting, and focus on action-based learning. At Ross, I’m heavily involved with the Healthcare & Life Sciences Club, Gourmet Club (big foodie!), Wolverine Venture Fund, and Outdoor Club.
I relied heavily on Ross Ambassadors during the b-school application journey, so I’m super excited to pay it forward. I’m happy to chat about coming in with a non-traditional background, healthcare opportunities, and all things Michigan and Ross. Go Blue!
