Valuation --- This course focuses on the valuation of projects and companies. In many business contexts, the value of a project or firm is at the root of effective decision-making. The course covers three valuation methods: discounted cash flows, adjusted present value, and multiples. Each method is explored in detail, and the topics in this section of the course include determining free cash flow and the weighted average cost of capital. The course then discusses many applications, including to decision-making in uncertain environments, leveraged buy-outs, mergers and acquisitions, and valuation of private firms.
