First Michigan Ross Online MBA Graduate Named to ‘Best & Brightest’ List by Poets&Quants
Congratulations to Lindsay Case, MBA ’21, who will not only be the first-ever graduate from the Online MBA Program at the Ross School of Business, but also earned a spot on Poets&Quants’ 2021 “Best & Brightest” Online MBAs list for her exceptional work and accomplishments in the Michigan Ross program.
Poets&Quants awards its Best & Brightest Online MBA designations to students who embody the excellence and voice of their school. To compile the Best & Brightest list this year, P&Q invited 27 top Online MBA programs to nominate students for the honor.
From those nominees, 54 high-achieving students were carefully chosen based on their academic performance, indispensable and reliable contributions, striking personal narratives, and innate potential.
With its first graduate, this is the initial year that Michigan Ross was eligible to have a student named to P&Q’s list. Ross became the highest ranked business school to launch an online MBA program in 2019.
Excelling through her online education, Case has proven to be a standout student, successfully tackling the rigor of the Michigan Ross MBA curriculum. As she persevered even through the challenges of the pandemic, Case embodies the spirit of “leaders and best.”
Meet the Michigan Ross soon-to-be OMBA grad who is already demonstrating her abilities as a powerful woman business leader.
Lindsay Case
Case, who is from Nashville, Tennessee, has accomplished many impressive feats before and after coming to Michigan Ross. She earned a PhD in computational genetics in animal-based protein production from the University of Guelph, where she also obtained her bachelor’s of science degree.
While completing her MBA, Case worked at Genus PIC, a company that pioneers animal genetic improvement to help nourish the world. Case now leads the Americas genetic services division of their product development team. Post-MBA, Case is transitioning to run their Canadian business as the director of Genus PIC Canada.
Case’s interest in Michigan Ross was sparked when the school launched its Online MBA.
“When I realized that Ross was committed to delivering their same standards for academic rigor and action-based learning, the program choice became a no-brainer for me,” explained Case. “As an additional motivating factor, our CEO at the time was a Ross alum. I had seen the education in action, witnessing firsthand that Ross prepares professionals to ‘Go Blue, Go Anywhere.’”
Even with an online format, Case was pleasantly surprised that the Michigan Ross OMBA program set a foundation for building relationships with classmates, which she feels has enabled her to make strong connections with professionals from around the globe.
“The state-of-the-art studio used for live lectures created an incredibly engaging, virtual learning environment, which set the foundation for building relationships with classmates,” Case said. “Throughout the program, continuous discussions and project work with peers in completely different industries and company contexts prepared me to more flexibly apply course content in the future. The degree to which these connections enhanced my learning and established a strong network exceeded my expectations.”
Ultimately, Case’s experience aligns perfectly with the emphasis of the Michigan Ross program on leadership and positive business. She discussed how the MBA helped her to better align and integrate her team’s strategy into the broader business, expanding its positive impact.
“By preparing me to lead in new functional areas within our company, the MBA has helped me take on new professional challenges that will ultimately make me a more well-rounded leader in the future,” she said.
