Cassie Hoffman, BBA ‘17/MAcc ‘18
The Michigan Ross Master of Accounting Program is only eight months long — but Cassie Hoffman is determined to make the most of it. She is involved in a number of hands-on opportunities at Ross, including a financial technology project with Alphabet and a Board Fellowship at the Center for Social Impact.
“Fintech is really exciting. I went to London as part of a project I’m working on for Alphabet and got to meet people from Citibank and some tech startups. I’m getting a better understanding of fintech; I’d be interested in pursuing that in some capacity in the future.”
Her CSI Board Fellowship was something she’s had her eye on since she was an undergraduate student at Ross. “I’m working with 5 Healthy Towns Foundation to advise them on how to best utilize their wellness centers. I’ve gotten to learn more about the board process.”
I’d love to serve on a nonprofit board someday.
Cassie also spends time serving as philanthropy chair of the MAcc Student Association. “I’ve always been interested in not just philanthropy, but education and the development of other students. We’ve been working with students from Cornerstone Schools on a program that was developed through the Impact Challenge.”
She says her favorite part of the MAcc Program is the community. “I loved having the opportunity to take classes with MBA students. The environment we’re in and the people we’re with really have encouraged me to be my best self.”
