Joseph Liu, MBA '15
Joseph oversaw the performance management system at Chinatrust Banking Corporation in Taiwan before going back to his family business, developing residential buildings.
He decided on an MBA to advance his management and leadership skills, but he also learned a lot about how commercial real estate differs from residential. Since his family’s business hoped to expand into other countries, the Ross GMBA Program offered a perfect chance to experience the business climates in Japan, Korea, and China, and to develop close ties with his classmates throughout Asia.
Joseph also enjoyed being exposed to different cultures and styles of learning, both within the GMBA class and in the broader Ross community. “It was a very interesting experience,” he says. “The Ross community is very energetic and has a very strong network. You’re not only going to learn academic knowledge from Ross, you can also make lots of connections.”
