Michigan Ross Ranked in Top Ten Globally for Four Specialties
QS World University Rankings recently released their 2019 specialization rankings, looking into the strength of seven common focus areas across MBA programs — Michigan Ross ranked in the top ten in four of the specializations.
Schools were ranked based on three criteria: their success in career placements specific to each specialization, the reputation of the school’s strength in each area as evaluated by recruiters, and the amount of topic-specific research done by the school’s faculty.
Ross placed in the top ten for marketing, technology, consulting, and information management, scoring high across all indicators the ranking evaluated.
Technology
Ross ranked #8 in technology in the latest report from QS. Technology is an area of strength at Ross that can’t be denied. Graduates of the Michigan Ross Full-Time MBA Class of 2018 set an all-time high record for tech recruiting, with 27 percent of grads taking jobs in the technology industry (up from 24 percent the previous year).
From tech-specific MAP projects, a data and business analytics concentration, robust co-curricular experiences, dedicated career guidance, and more, the Ross Full-Time MBA definitely helps students stand out in the competitive tech job market.
Marketing
In the recent report from QS, Ross was ranked #8 in marketing. MBA graduates at Ross are in-demand at some of the world’s most popular consumer brands, with P&G, PepsiCo, Amazon, Johnson&Johnson and others filling out the list of top hiring companies.
The student-run Marketing Lab at Ross is a part of that success. The marketing lab gives students access to industry standard tools like the Nielsen Co.’s Answers on Demand system and the social media monitoring platform Tracx, so when students start their marketing internships or careers, they hit the ground with the technical expertise needed to make a difference on day one.
Consulting
Michigan Ross placed ninth in consulting in the QS specialty rankings. Ross has a long history of strength in consulting — with more than 30 percent of each graduating class taking consulting jobs at the world’s top firms.
The Ross Full-Time MBA program prepares students to succeed in consulting careers through rigorous, focused academics, meaningful co-curricular experiences, and innovative action-based learning opportunities.
Information Management
Michigan Ross placed #10 in the information management specialization as ranked by QS. The range of experiences for Ross students interested in pursuing careers that involve information management is vast, starting with the Data and Business Analytics concentration that focuses course work on honing technical and analytical skills.
In addition, all Michigan students receive free access to a full library of coding courses through Michigan Online, offering courses on the coding languages like SQL, Python, and R. Not to mention there’s an established dual degree opportunity to connect your Ross education with the University of Michigan School of Information. A diverse set of co-curricular and student club experiences are also available for students interested in beefing up their information management skills.
