UPCLOSE: For Prospective Full-Time MBA Students
Our UpClose diversity event, held every fall at Ross, is hosted by the Office of Admissions in partnership with the members of Ross' Consortium community.
UpClose offers prospective MBA students the opportunity to experience the community and programs at Ross, and it is designed for prospective students of any race or ethnicity who have an interest in improving the visibility of underrepresented populations in management.
Programs and Initiatives at Ross
Since its inception in 1983, Ross has been a member of The Consortium for Graduate Study in Management, an alliance of leading American business schools and some of the United States’ top corporations.
The mission of The Consortium is to enhance diversity in business education and leadership by helping to reduce the serious underrepresentation of African Americans, Hispanic Americans, and American Indians in both its member schools’ enrollments and the ranks of management.
We encourage all prospective MBA students with a demonstrated commitment to increasing the participation of underrepresented groups in the business professions to apply to the Ross MBA program through The Consortium.
Management Leadership for Tomorrow (MLT)
Michigan Ross is a Premier Partner with MLT and participates in their in-person seminars and other events.
MLT provides the roadmap, coaching, hard and soft skills, and door-opening relationships that transform high-potential underrepresented talent into high-impact leaders.
MLT’s MBA Prep Program prepares African Americans, Hispanics, and American Indians to apply to major business schools and successfully navigate the corporate recruiting process once admitted. The MBA Prep experience includes two years of personalized coaching and five in-person seminars where participants enhance their skills and build relationships with business school admission officers and recruiters from more than 60 top corporations and social sector organizations.
In addition, Fellows receive mentoring from MLT alumni, participate in high-impact volunteer leadership activities, and connect with organizations that provide GMAT preparation.
