Cathy Shakespeare Promoted to Professor of Accounting
Cathy Shakespeare recently earned a promotion that was approved by the University of Michigan Board of Regents, recognizing her achievements in the field of accounting.
Cathy Shakespeare was promoted to professor of accounting. Shakespeare teaches Businesses and Leaders: The Positive Differences (BA 200) to BBA students. Her research focuses on the effects of the financial reporting process on the decisions of managers and capital market participants. She formerly served as Arthur Andersen Professor of Accounting and the Associate Dean for Teaching and Learning. She was appointed the Michael and Joan Sakkinen Faculty Fellow in 2022 and the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs in 2023. Shakespeare earned a Ph.D. from the Univerity of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Bachelor of Arts from Dublin City University.
