Celebrate International Podcast Day by Listening to These Podcasts by Michigan Ross Alumni
With over two million podcasts worldwide, the podcast industry is expected to generate $2 billion this year and $4 billion by 2024.
Podcasts have transformed the way people consume media and access information and news. They have also provided a platform for individuals to share their stories. With that in mind, it should come as no surprise that many Ross School of Business alums host their own podcasts that focus on important and impactful topics, including caregiving and friendship.
As we’ve done in 2020 and 2021, to celebrate International Podcast Day on Sept. 30, we’re highlighting the work of a couple of those alums that you may find worth a listen.
Tracey Clanton, BBA ’83
A Caregiver’s Conscience
This is a podcast created to voice the cares and concerns of being a caregiver. The podcast features a series of stories describing the daily reality
— good, bad, happy, and sad — that Clanton has encountered while being her mother’s caregiver. Overall, this podcast is designed to “tell others” and spread awareness of what it is like to be a caregiver.
Michael Daniel, BBA ’01/JD ’04
The Talking Friendship with Mike D Podcast
This podcast is about friendship; not only friendship generally, but specific examples of friendship through the lens of host Mike Daniel, also known as Mike D. He provides humorous and informative updates on his life and what's on his mind, and then brings on at least one personal friend to tell the story of their friendship. Comedy and life lessons ensue.
Daniel has created three seasons of his podcast, and he sometimes invites other Ross alums and U-M grads as guests. The podcast, launched in late 2020, covers all topics, including sports, movies, music, life in general, and, of course, friendship.
