Landy Cheng, MBA '16
Landy wanted to strengthen her skills in management, marketing, and leadership so she could help her family business.
In addition to the accelerated, 16-month program, she chose Ross for two reasons: the school’s commitment to learning by doing and, especially, its unique educational environment.
“I think it’s an amazing school,” she says. “Ross has a very strong collaborative learning environment. Everything was related to teamwork, and people helped each other no matter what. Students are not only smart, but also had a willingness to try new things. There was a spirit of entrepreneurship that encouraged me to explore different approaches and experience new perspectives.”
She speaks highly of her Ross professors as well: “They’re really the top, and the best fit for the community. They always challenged our thinking.” She particularly liked one unique aspect of the GMBA Program: a Benchmarking Trip to Silicon Valley, where students met with top executives of major companies as well as startups. “We not only visited them, we also had real conversations with them,” she says. “That gave me a totally different perspective on doing business.”
